Steve Woodhouse, PT, OCS, opened Rehab Services of Nevada two
years ago with the help of one staff member. Today there are twelve people on his staff and they are doing all they
can to keep up with the demand from Fallon residents for physical therapy services. "We treat a variety of issues," said Woodhouse, "from lymph edema to orthopedic, and
neurological to wound care, we can help with most anything." Woodhouse is the Director of the Rehab Services Fallon
office; there are also offices in Winnemucca, Elko and Idaho. Woodhouse obviously knows what he's talking about, for a young guy he's been involved in the
industry for nearly 20 years. He has been working in the field of physical therapy since 1989 and was a member of a
special class of 21 students who got the chance to study abroad and he ended up attended physical therapy school in Ireland.
Woodhouse and his wife Dedra and their oldest daughter, who is now 15, lived there while he went to school. They had
two more children once school was completed, and they are now ages eight and five. Rehab Services is designed to address all major injuries and offers physical therapy, occupational therapy,
as well as speech therapy. They are located at 52 Commercial Way in a nice, clean office space and can be reached by
phone at 867-3904. Woodhouse also meets with
members of Total Fitness Athletic Club once a month where he does injury prevention consulting. "Someone may be
having pain in their joints or prolonged soreness from working out and I meet with them and see where changes can be made."
Hopefully that prevents further injuries and possible time off from workouts. "This is also a good way to meet people in a small town," said Woodhouse. "Being
new to the area, meeting people through Total Fitness Athletic Club has been a good way to get known and eventually down the
road if people need our services, they know where we are." Be sure though, to call ahead, Rehab Services has a friendly staff and are prepared for anything,
but they are busy.
